I am awaiting a referral to see a rheumatologist as i have had severe pain and loss of movement in ny left leg. I have had flu like symptoms for 6 weeks and now my right knee is stiffening and painful. I also dont feel good either, is that normal for Ra ?

Yes yes yes Sammie46. I use to get bouts of flu 4/5 times a year before diagnosis along side extreme fatigue with stiffness and painful joints. I’m not saying you have RA but they are typical symptoms. Keep a diary and any photos of swelling to show your consultant as this disease comes and goes I use to get mad when I had an appointment and I was having a good day symptom free after spending weeks suffering. Good luck

Thank you. I take pics every week of my elephant leg. The Ra secretary told me to see my gp to see if i can push for a quicker appointment. I also have chronic kidney pain too x

Sammie, from your previous posts it looks as if you may have had the symptoms for a couple of years? Have you had blood tests for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Anti-CCP? If not, beg your GP into urgent action as the results could influence early appointment with Rheumatology.

Ive not any ra tests yet. I think my d dimer test was elevated as it was a false positive due to Ra. In going to my gp tomorrow evening. Im in agony at the moment and can barely walk today

Sammie, you could also have Lymphodema with you saying about your leg..also autoimmune like RA..these diseases are so wide ranging & complicated it may be a while before you get a firm diagnosis..usually RA affects both sides of the body, both knees, both feet etc at roughly the same time...sending hugs xx

Its not lymphedema. The pain is in my knee front and back. My other knee has also started to hurt and as i understand it, its not always symmetrical. Im also hypothyroidism which leaves me susceptible to Ra.Trauma docs and dvt docs believe i have Ra. Im hoping to get blood tests okd tomorrow by my gp which may speed up my ra appointment
