I’m on holiday in Rhodes temperature well in to the mid 30s. Since I’ve got here I am passing very little urine. I’m not drinking alcohol only water(lots) and the odd orange juice. To day my urine was very orange I’m due to take my methotrexate on Wednesday was wondering if it would be best to skip this dose? I fly back on Saturday.
Hi j1707. I wouldn't worry as long as you are drinking plenty of water and feel ok. My urine is always orange because I take sulphasalazine. I would carry on as usual. If it's hot you will be sweating more and urinating less. Keep drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration but apart from that enjoy yourself and take your methotrexate as usual.
While I can’t give you advice, I’m due shortly to change from MTX tablets to MTX injection, I am one week short in tablets to my change over. I asked the Rheumy nurse about this and she said that missing one dose was fine and not to worry about it.
Hi if you’re not managing to pass much urine due to the heat I would go and get a hydration drink something along the lines of dyrolite it’s perhaps that you don’t have the salts etc to keep you hydrated so water on it’s own isn’t sufficient. It won’t hurt and could make you feel much better. When it’s really hot our bodies need more salt and certain sugars to keep our fluids flowing.
