My daughter has R A which is pretty well controlled but has to have a hysterectomy because of pre-cancerous cells. She has been told that she is high risk and is naturally concerned for her daughter's welfare.
Has anyone any experience of similar and advice to pass on? We would appreciate your comments.

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. It must be such a concerning time for you as a family.
Things have come on such a long way in this field so I’m certain she will do well and will be sorted ASAP.
I had blocked Fallopian tubes on the right side and a ruptured ovarian cyst last year and I am in medically induced remission for sero negative RA.
I am on Hydroxychloroquine and Benepali injections.
I was told to come off the Benepali two weeks before and two weeks after the operation.
I had to increase the time I was off the Benepali because I had a wound infection and had to take antibiotics to help heal.
Kept taking Hydroxychloroquine throughout just not on days I was in hospital and didn’t flare after my op.
Benepali has worked well since and as my CRP started to creep up this soon fell again once I resumed the jabs about four weeks after the op so it showed me that my remission wouldn’t stay that way without the drugs and my journey with RA is a balance and an ongoing one at that !
I truly hope all goes well with your daughter, my ovary and tube removal pushed me into menopause unfortunately but I am on HRT patches which have worked like a dream.

Hello....so sorry to hear about your daughter. Just had to reply because I know what your going through at the moment., My daughter hasn't got RA, but she was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year. I was devastated, she's got two children and was just getting her life back after divorcing her husband. The cancer hadn't spread thankfully so she had a hysterectomy and a few weeks got the all clear, she's not had to have chemo. She had key hole surgery and recovered really well, I started calling her Wonder Woman, she was working from home two weeks after the op.

I too call Kate wonder woman because she refuses to give in. Tomorrow she is doing a triathlon in Stratford and then will be driving to Somerset for a meeting on Monday. She battles the fatigue of RA and now the op. on top is a big worry. However, stories like yours are really supportive. So thank you for taking the time to reply with so much understanding.
Been thinking about you the past few days and just wanted to give you a bit of advice.
I joined two Facebook groups for cervical cancer and they frightened the life out of me. Lots of really sad stories. I had to stop following them. I then realised that people from all over the world posted and I had to stop and think that treatment various from country to country. Just want to tell you that I saw our NHS at its very best, the care she got (and still getting) was first class, she was offered counciling and she sees someone whenever she needs to.
So what about you? You need someone to talk to I'm sure, I did. I found a charity with a helpline to phone and they helped me tremendously. They answered questions that I didn't want to ask my daughter incase she hadn't thought of them. My mind took me to some very dark places.

Thank you. It is really good to know that you are there! SORRY TO HAVE BEEN SLOW IN RESPONDING I have just had a few days immobile with a fracture in my spine..not new but seemed to decide to flare when most inconvenient. I'm moving again now and so my husband has been able to go to Kate's. Whilst waiting for her date she is getting the house to rights! He is very practical....army training!
