Contact your doctors and tell them how you are feeling. It’s not unusual to get side effects with steroids, especially with a big dose. But it sounds unpleasant so maybe the doctor can suggest and alternative.

Has nobody prescribed something like Lansoprazole to protect your tummy? Maybe you should ask about this.

For me this dose was like being on speed it was had but put up with for a week. However you really should contact your GP as they can give an antisickness pill. I did not have stomach pain but felt sick and very wired. I also had Ad cal D3 and Ratinitide to protect stomach so ask about that too.

No I was started on a big dose that reduced over a three month period. I chose to take pills because a) I comply well and b) I’m a wimp about injections - don’t mind giving blood but injections no thanks. I felt amazing - just like Wonder Woman but after a month on the steroids I was thrown off a pre diabetes study I was taking part in because I had developed steroid induced T2 diabetes. Never been knew that was a possibility.

Eventually I got straightened out and between a low carb, high fat diet and and plenty of exercise I ate my way out of T2. Then in the not too distant past a GP gave me steroids for something else and when I questioned it she said that the dose was so low and it was for such a short time that I would be fine.

I still have the blood sugar meter I bought when I was T2 and sure enough my blood sugar was sky high again. I loved feeling pain free and invincible but I would definitely avoid steroids from now on. Didn’t have any of your side effects though. Hopefully your GP can come up with a solution you can’t go on like that.

They gave me Osteoporosis and I only took 40mg a day, although I also had 5 x 1gram infusions of Methylpred.

Do you have food of some sort before taking the pred.? Not to say that is the answer as my experience starting pred. was 50 mgs on an empty stomach which caused no nausea. It sure took care of the extreme pain I was in, though.

Hi,

Try taking it in 2/3 doses, morning, afternoon and evening. It sure helped me, as I was knocked out when I took 60 mg in a single dose.

Take it with food.

Don't know whether you have RA, or any other Auto Immune Disorder. So don't know whether medication for that could cause polyps. Have to read up on that. If I find something, I will share it.

Recently read that Nasal polyps and tonsils grow/ enlarge, if Vit D3 level is low.

vitamindcouncil.org/the-rol...

I read about tonsils, nasal polyps and role of vit D3, as my 9 year old granddaughter has difficulty breathing , due to extremely enlarged tonsils. She also has nasal polyps. Surgery was the only option, which was done yesterday.

bmcpediatr.biomedcentral.co...

(On a different issue, found that low vit D3 is also the reason for early puberty. )

Hope this helps.

I had nasal polyps for many years....I had them surgically removed many times over about 10 years, but they just reappeared........until laser surgery finally sorted them,& they never grew again.Ask your ent surgeon about removing them rather than suffering with steroids....which might shrink them for a while but whilst they are still in situ they will just swell up again as soon as whatever is causing them reappears.
