I gave myself a ‘sharp scratch’ with the pointy end of the Metoject Pen this morning, overseen by a gleeful husband waiting for the blood curdling scream 😱. What an anti-climax! I didn’t feel a thing & frantically looked around to find out where the orange liquid had gone!
If anyone is new to the injections, I can quite honestly say, you don’t even feel the dreaded ‘sharp scratch’.
When I have my Depo-Medrone injections, I definitely feel the needle go in & also feel the steroid go in too. In comparison this is like a piece of......’walk in the park’.
Nic xx 🙈🙂

Hooray! I'm thrilled to hear your 'sharp scratch' proved such an anticlimax and that you posted about it. It will certainly help those who are scared of the metoject pens. I've been using them for over a year with no problems at all.
Hi, I have 5 injections daily because I have Diabetes, what I do, grab some flab I only have a little fat so lol,
Ran some flesh not to tightly and put the needle in to your he the skin and once it’s in press down gently hold in to count of ten. All done you can now fall down into a heap or just get on with it lol.
I grabbed flab too! I wasn’t really too worried about the injections. I knew they couldn’t be worse than the injections I had to give myself after surgery. I was far gentler than some of the nurses that seemed to enjoy inflicting as much pain as they could whilst I was in hospital! Nic x
Ouch too the nurses I think your right, there, when I was on a regular holiday in hospital there was one nurse who must have been having a very bad day shoved the needle so far in without a word, wham bam thank you ma’am and I kinds of screamed and asked is this a bad day for you, the next nurse was beautiful and a student PLUS I didn’t feel a thing lol. I had about 6 rather large round bruises where the last injection laid lol
After surgery & the dreadful abdominal jabs, I asked one nurse if they could do them anywhere else. She said, ‘yes, in the thigh’ & before I had chance to say I didn’t fancy that, in it was jabbed. Needless to say, it was back to abdomen after that! 😬
Agreed ... I self inject Humira using the pen. If it is allowed to warm up to room temp I can hardly feel it. I do mine once a fortnight and it's been great.
