09/04/2019 - Great hiking at SAPA, Hanoi

Being a RA patient, though under remission since 2016, I wonder if I could complete the hiking at SAPA.

I knew SAPA is a mountain site but I never knew that I needed to hike such a long distance before I was there.

The very 1st day in SAPA, we started our journey at 8.30 am and ended the journey after 3 pm. The whole journey was 13.5 km, we were so tired and non of us wanted to walk back to the hotel, the very kind tour guide had indeed arranged the small van to standby for us.

The 2nd day in SAPA, while having our body aching, especially both our legs, from the 1st day of hiking, since SAPA is a mountain site, we continued another round of hiking but it was just a 4 km journey hence we managed to complete the journey too.

While stopping by for our lunch, we took some nice photo of the mountain site.

Hi helix, glad to know that you had done that before. Will be going Alishan and Hehuashan in Taiwan coming Jun, another 2 great mountains to see again. But then my main purpose is to attend my son's graduation hence take the chance to travel around too.

Thank you to all of you here. Yes, it is beautiful but it was very tiring to hike around different villages. We visited all 6 villages in 2 days. Since I had been to Hanoi and Ho Chi Ming, I think I will visit other countries in future to experience other cultures and life.

Thanks for always updating us here, it's very encouraging to hear from those that are in remission. Have you had any xrays done to see if no further damage to your joints?

Yes, I did have an X-Ray done at the very early stage. So far my joints were/are okay accordingly to my rheumy. I hope it continue the same way.
