Hi Spoof. Ive been thinking to do the same for awhile. I have read that its best to avoid cod liver oil or fish liver oil and to go for pure fish oil. But that seems hard to find.

Ask your pharmacist...he/she will know what will be OK with the meds you are taking...but as Sylvi says...avoid any fish liver oils.

I use the fish oil alone.as cod liver has Vitamin A which I'm concerned about, as you can get too much Vitamin A. "Chronic toxicity occurs when large amounts of vitamin A build up in your body over a long period of time. Symptoms include changes to vision, bone pain, and skin changes. Chronic toxicity can lead to liver damage and increased pressure on your brain. ... Most people improve simply by decreasing their intake of vitamin A."

You need to look at the dha and epa levels per tablet. The higher is the better. Holland and barrett do a good one

I've posted stuff on Omega 3 a few times Spoof.

I have taken cod liver oil since I was a baby. A couple of years after becoming unwell with this autoimmune disease I moved across to Omega 3.

It's very easy to get. I buy mine from Holland and Barrett as I wanted to get the 'cleanest - least polluting source' and found them to be the best.

Apart from all the health benefits of Omega 3 I also found it got rid of around 20% of my fatigue.

However before I started taking it I cleared it with my Consultant as wanted to check that it did not interfere with any of my meds.

You could try the Fish Oil capsules from PharmaNord. You can buy them direct or via Amazon. They are made from the body of the fish not the liver and are very high quality.
