2 years on blood results still raised re: liver. Every month have blood checked and it's the same up and down like a yo yo ☹️ Always just over borderline.
Saw liver consultant and he says I have nothing to worry about. Had clear MRI on liver👍
My GP is saying if it carries on they won't prescribe Sulpha or HYDROX ☹️ Yet consultant and Rheumy say I am OK to carry on taking them. Confused who do I listen to?
More importantly should I be worried?
Many thanks in advance

The normal ranges are just average ranges, and people can be completely healthy and normal with results just outside the range. The important thing is to work out what's normal for you and to work out trends. So if your ALT levels were in the middle of the range, and have been slowly rising and are continuing to rise outside the range then that's not a brilliant trend. But if they are just bobbing up and down within maybe 5 or 10% of the range maximum then that could be your normal.
The liver is a great organ as it does repair itself pretty well. So it is quite able to withstand fluctuations. But, of course, it's also a pretty essential organ so you don't want to mess it up.
I personally would give more weight to the liver consultant, so perhaps ask that he/she write to your GP with advice on managing these fluctuations.
