Is your optician worried? I would ask the advice of a specialist on this as I wouldn't want to to run any risks with my eyesight.

They said if it is still raised next appointment they will need to refer me. My dad had Glaucoma so I am worried a year is a long time to wait.

Well if you're dad had glaucoma no wonder you're anxious. Did the ophthalmologist know that as a year is a long time? Personally even tho' it's only a fraction above normal I'd ask to be seen again in 6 months.

I would ask for a referral now, especially with family history. Or at least get a different optician to check. Sight is too precious.

I have glaucoma and would be worried if my pressures were the same as yours, especially the reading of 26. Mine are around 14/15 I have drops to take each night. My sister had glaucoma before me so I was initially Dx with pre glaucoma and had laser treatment and i developed narrow angle glaucoma after 3 years. Maybe ask for a referral. All the best. X

I was referred by my optician after a number of readings of 26. And now have drops. 26 seems to be the cut off point but I think more than one reading of 26 or above is the norm for referral. I advise an early test and if you still have 26 or above ask to be referred.

I have an eye test once a year as I am on HCQ.

I asked the Optician about eye pressures a few moons ago and she said max is 22.

If it was me I'd take action now, especially of the Glaucoma link.

Good luck!

I too have a family history of glaucoma, my father had it. I have inherited it and have to use drops at night. I attend a glaucoma clinic every 12 months or so. Pressure readings were about 15 last time.

Good luck.

I have glaucoma and have drops for it. I also had laser surgery. I would be worried if my pressures were 26. In fact I was told by my optometrist if I saw halos around light bulbs, felt a deep ache in my eye and the eye was red looking, or I felt sick to go to A and E as if it isn't treated it can lead to blindness. The first time I had the laser surgery, the next time extra drops added. My mother also had glaucoma.

Thank you I am going to go for another eye test and see what the pressures are and ask for a referral if it is still raised.
