Shivering
When I first be ame unwell I went through a very cold period when I just could not keep myself warm and would shiver. That has now passed and I'm hot and burning most of the time, sometimes feverish.
I do both, sometimes I have hot flushes, and sometimes in the mornings and evening I just can't get warm, like tonight, heating is on and have a thick jumper on but I am freezing
Hi Adam, I too have shivering during the night and mornings without a fever as though I'm going down with cold or flu but nothing. I take parecetomols which helps. Having Seropositive rheumatoid arthritis I was told shivering was part of the symptom. I have this winter decided to use electric blanket which helps and good for joints.
Best wishes

I shiver for no reason and then I can turn around and run a fever for no reason. Likewise I was told it was RA associated. I’m also a big fan of my electric blanket. I find it I keep my muscles and joints warm, especially in the winter, I do much better. If I get chilled it can do damage that lasts a day or more it.
I turn into a radiator in bed I always wake up too hot like I’m radiating heat... even sweaty sometimes- but am feeling cold most of the time during the day, like I’m cold from the inside out...
I remember a really warm spell last year where I had shorts and top on in garden and felt cold almost shivery, didn’t realise I was getting sunburnt 😬
The hydroxy seems to have made me burn more easily, even the mild sun we are having in the uk last week was burning my scalp as I hung out some washing in garden.
I’m going to be wearing a big cardigan all wrapped up accessorising with a sun hat to stop my head burning this summer I expect 😂
Oh the joys!
Anxiety and shivering in the morning can have a connection to low sugar. Our sugar stores in the liver are used up pretty much during night. Some of us may need to take carbs before going to bed. I used to have this problem. Would wake up hungry at night. Anyways you could try taking a spoon of honey or something else sweet when you have the shivering and anxiety and try to eat carbs before going to bed.You are in my view discribing a stress rection in your body and stress is calmed down by sugar.
You might be on to something with the sugar and stress, this last week has been a bit rubbish. I do come around quickly once I’ve had food in the morning, but i have to force it down me. I will Bering some haribo to bed with me tonight and see
So sorry for you but at last I have answers! Every few months I seem to wake up feeling cold - start shivering -gets worse so I go back to bed - takes an hour or so to stop in which time I feel really ill. Then I start to warm up and get to sleep for a few hours. Not too bad when I wake up - sometimes sweaty - but feel "off" for the rest of the day!
