Gidday, I am knew here, diagnosed with RA twelve months ago, taking methotrexate, mild improvement, trying to exercise a lot but not sure if if I am getting muscle soreness from exercise or RA pain daily, but I will keep moving.

Perhaps the fatigue bothers me more.

Have a nice day everyone.

Hi. Is the gday a phrase or are you in Australia!

Well it's 4 am here and there's an awful rain and windstorm blowing madly outside so I'm wide awake ...again.

Nice to see you here xxx

Yep, I am from down under, sun is shining and I have just hit the beach, the cold water is very invigorating and does wonders for my aching joints, hence two swims a day.

Ah your making me jealous. Pouring rain and wind. Freezing cold on the north York moors Here!

I haven't been to aus but it sounds like an amazing place.

Does the sunshine help your joints?

Not sure if I have noticed the difference with the weather, certainly the cold ocean has a huge effect. When I put my weary body in the ocean and do a few stretches, then float in the ocean like a sea lion, I get out of the water feeling like I could run a marathon, but I couldn’t. The Mr Cool, compression ice bandages are wonderful as well, as you can target your sore point.

Nearest I'm getting is aquarobics at our local pool just now. Night gonna try sleeping again xx

Hi Oneta what a beautiful place to stay and although I’ve never been I’ve got relations that live in Perth and love the outdoor life, I think the sea will be doing you a lot off good and try to exercise as much as I can I go to body conditioning 2 a week plus the gym and go swimming and walking, it might be a bit Jeff both ie the after effects of exercising and the disease, I’ve had RA coming up 5 years now and sometimes I’m a bit sore afterwards but we need to keep moving or we just stiffen up so keep going

Hiya Oneta, welcome. Good to have you here. We have a few members from your part of the world so you may be able to swap ideas. The water can be really good to exercise in, though I don't do well in cold water, the same with applying to specific joints, I respond to heat not cold.

Sounds as if the weather's good. We here on the NW coast were battered by Storm Erik last night, done some damage & still quite gusty this afternoon. My brother in law & wife are heading out to Sydney in April to see her son. Save some of the good weather for then?! ☀️😎

Have a nice day and stay happy, thank you for your nice welcome. Like you the strange thing is when I am cold, I do get comfort from heat packs as well, so how weird is that, cold works as well as warmth.

Hello, and welcome.

Daily swimming soumds great....just not too far!

But I'm really confused. You have the same avatar thingy as another member Mmrr. How weird is that?

Reading all the posts, just reinforces how weird this condition is as people’s pain management and reactions are all very different.

Welcome Oneta really cheered me imagining warm sunny weather when it's so awful here gales and rain. Take it easy on the exercises and rest up when your body tells you it's had enough.

Have had RA for 24yrs and have had to learn to pace myself, housework is now done in small doses no more whizzing round like a whirlwind 😀 take care and I'm not a bit jealous of your sunshine I don't think 🤗 x

Thanks for your wise word, sometimes I get confused between muscle stiffness and RA aches when I do my exercise, I still have lots of sunshine down under if you want some sent your way.
