RA and Shoulder Pain

One of the places affected by my RA is my shoulders. The small AC joints at the top of my arms towards my neck. I get alot of pain across the top and it restricts some of my movement in my left arm as i get sharp pain on some movements. I find a bath or long hot water bottle helps when its bad, plus pain relief of course but wondered if anyone fpund anything else helpful? Also get alot of pain in hands, wrists, elbows, ankles and feet and about to start my first biologic this month - Benepali, so hoping this os going to make a big difference?

Have you tried massage? When my shoulders are bad all the muscles contract which makes it worse and massage can help loads.

Hi I got a shoulder/neck warmer from Lidl but I’m sure they do them on Amazon. It’s called Sweet Dreams but if you type in heated shoulder pad it will come up. Has different heat settings and gives some relief while it’s on. Sarah xx

I have one of these too, like a shawl that covers your neck and shoulders and does up at the front. Always helps my neck and shoulder relax s bit when they are bad.

That’s the one Kitty. They also do ones that go down your back now so I might invest in one. xx

I saw those in Lidl today, I did consider one but soon my whole body will be covered in heated pads 😁

Yes a full body suit one would be brilliant 😂

I may look into that. I have a small electric heat pad.. think thats a sweet dreams one or similar but not the shoulder one. I use on my back and a Yuhu water bottle which helps my shoulders but will look that up thanks

Ahh feel for you, I know how you feel been there, doing well at the moment

wheat bags you heat up help my neck and shoulders, a wide strap bra

look up my threads ,I recommend a type of bra way back

use elbow supports when there painful, that really helps elbows

wrist supports

feet Epsom salts soak in bowel

and I am getting one of those foot warmers you plug in

Thanks...yes ive use compression gloves more than wrist supports and physio recommended i buy these bra things off amazon, only a few quid but they bring the straps in so the weight falls on a different place on the shoukders..kind of make a normal bra like a spirts bra...does help.
