Totally agree - my analogy is...

If you don’t even try to get up the stairs every day you will always be at the bottom. I don’t always get to the top every day but I am always further up than if I didn’t try!

I hear you! I’ll be 60 next month and apart from all the aches and pains, and being in danger of turning into a ‘grumpy old woman’, I still think I’m a young(ish) thing. That’s especially so when my 58 y/o sister and I get together - we can be very silly and immature, and it’s actually quite liberating! Age is definitely just a number - pick one and stick to it!
