I can't answer your questions as I have no knowledge on the subject, but wanted to say wishing and sending you best wishes that you have a fast speedy recovery with all you have been through.xx
Hi Mattcass, I am the same as Veronica regarding my knowledge on this drug but there are others on here who will likely be able to help. Wishing you a speedy recovery from your op and hope the treatment plan goes well. Suzie X
Hi Mattcass
There is an RA drug called 'rituximab'. Could it be that? May be worth giving them a quick call to check and note the spelling. If it is, this is a drug quite commonly used to treat RA, and you are likely to find a number of people on here with experience of it.
Kind regards
Victoria

If it is Rituxan, then I have had infusions with it for another condition. It is an immunotherapy drug that helps the body to help itself. It put me in remission with the condition that I have for over a year now.
I was allergic to it the first infusion, but the clinic team got right on it and administered a steroid and benedryl to help me. My throat was closing up. I was out of the woods in no time and from that point on, with every infusion after, I had to have the steroid and benedryl drip first and then the infusion.
This drug is being used with so many auto-immune conditions now. And RA is one of them. I had a great experience with it. At the time, one of my conditions was PMR - which is a rheumatoid condition that just so happened to “lurk” alongside the condition for which I was treated and after my set of infusions, I went into remission with both! It helped with inflammation and everything. I went from a CRP of 82 down to below 5 after I was done with the infusions. (I only had infusion treatments once a week for a month).
So, after all that, I do hope we are talking Rituxan and that you have a blessed time of getting back on the road to recovery!!
