Gardening therapy

Hi everyone, hope you’re all ok & are able to enjoy your heatwave without too much discomfort? Steroids helping my flare while I wait for next hospital appointment. So, slowly getting garden back in order!! Wish it didn’t hurt so much to do the things that I love though!! Probably doesn’t help that my head doesn’t listen to my body! (stubborn)....anyway it’s good therapy & if it’s going to hurt anyway, might as well make it worth it!!😉🤗

Glad to hear that you can get out into the garden. I'm finding it difficult to keep on top of it because of the hot weather we are having. I'm too stiff first thing in the morning to tackle it (when it's cooler) and too tired by the time it has cooled down in the evening. And the only things that are thriving are the weeds - everything else looks so sorry for itself - and I can't get the roots of the weeds out because the ground is baked hard.

The only thing I have managed is to clear out the pond. It had got so low that it was possible to pull out some of the overgrown plants, divide them and save a few to go back in, scoop out some of the mud and then use some of the water from the rain water collection barrels to partially refill it. I hope I caught it in time to save the newts and frogs that live there normally.

Hi, well done for getting the pond done, that sounds like a big job in itself!! I find it difficult to look at things I have done & keep thinking of things I haven’t done!! Think there should be ‘brain re-training courses’ with RA.. mine certainly doesn’t work in conjunction with my body!!!

I don’t like being indoors when the sun’s out, but like you, it’s difficult choosing a ‘good time’. It’s now reaching it’s peak over here & will be up in the 30’s until the end of August..too hot even under a parasol!! Beach is the answer...when I can get going early enough to get down there , so we can park the car before all the tourists!!

What stress!! lol... I still prefer it to the rain !!... until it gets humid, but that’s another story! 😉 Take care & I hope your newts & frogs are ok...😊
