Hi, a friend of mine has been taking Methotrexate for about 12 months. He has developed a tremor all over his body which has got progressively worse.

Has anyone else experienced the same problems? He has also experienced vision problems.

Hi BettyBoob59, I’m on a low dose but yes I have the tremour, I got the same thing, it is dam right evil thing and at first I used to check my mobile phone, I would always do that because it moved round a lot and then it went all over my body, it wasn’t easy to spot because it’s internal but if you put your hand on the sufferer you could feel it. My dr had no clues, it started to wake me up at stupid o’clock and it started to make me feel sick, now it has settled down and nowhere near as bad, it comes and goes and I think it is linked to anxiety, that just my opinion, I’m sure.

Best of British luck and let me know you get on , please

I have seen an expert type of person lol, I was running scared about Parkinson’s and said no it has nothing at all to do with Parkinson’s. So I just keep keeping on, for me the tremors have settled down and it isn’t anywhere near as bad as it was but it is still there hiding.

If you find out what it is pleas tell me.

I'd have thought that sounds like a visit to a properly qualified medical expert. Its easy to just assume its down to the medication but actually could be anything from Parkinson's to anxiety.

I agree with medway-lady. An unusual reaction like that should mean a phone call and appointment with a doctor of some sort :)

Agree with you & Medway lady.

For many, many people Methotrexate is a life saver.

Everybody taking it who thinks symptoms are caused by it should immediately talk to their rheumatologist & get professional advice, not just think & accept that it's caused by Methotrexare.

I must say I have Dementia and this has nothing to do with the tremors , as you can imagine I’ve been seen by lots of experts.

Still confusing.
