Anyone else finding that the extended period of warm weather we are experiencing here in the UK is helping their joints/RA?
I’m trying to decide if it is the reduced humidity or the heat that is the important factor! My joints (particularly wrists, knees and ankles) are not as painful.

Yes I think it does help even though it's soooooooo hot for the rest of me I've got not energy to do anything without dripping 😓
Coming from OZ, our stressful weather is when it’s 40C for a few days, and I find that incredibly stressful and fatiguing. Now we’re in Winter, I suffer from additional morning stiffness, but other than that, not too bad - quite perky really. Hot weather I find to be horrible and very tiring.
Perhaps we have a “weather baseline” that we’re comfortable with, and extremes are difficult, determined by which hemisphere we live in ? Cheers Deb
Mine I have to say is staying really quiet . I am aching from over doing things but I think it's more muscular as I'm pushing myself more . I'm dreading the cold weather and the damp as that becomes my trigger . Have a good day to those this weather suits and 🤗to those that are suffering
Warm weather does in fact usually have a possitive effect on the symptoms of RA especially if you are hypothyroid ( which so many of us are even though not diagnosed). Warm weather supports the thyroid to keep you body warm through supporting sugar metabolism, that gives the energy to cells. In other words if you have low body temp, cold hands and feet normally you probably benefit. Joint pain is a typical hypothyroid symptom as well.
Just returned from Tunisia when I got up without stiffness and no aches at all. I think its dry heat which is important as here the humidity is high and I really ache.
I'm loads better in the sun. Much less pain. Quite hard to do anything in the heat though, fortunately I don't have to do much!
Nope, for me, heat means my inflammation is absolutely increased!! Honestly, I hate it, working 13 hours days in uniform doesn't help either but I find it incredibly uncomfortable and increases my symptoms, doesn't help at all, unfortunately. I guess we are all different!!
Yes, the pains less but the swollen joints and fatigue has definitely ramped up.

I am really suffering so much in this heat that I don't know what to do with myself. I am dripping from my head, all down my face and neck and feel so self conscious with it. The pain in my back and knees are even worse than they normally are and I could sleep all the time. As if this is not enough, my feet, lower legs and toes are all swollen. I have never suffered like this in heat before.
Sorry I’m completely the opposite much more pain and feel really quite unwell. My best time is when it is cooler but dry. Glad lots of you are having less pain. Xx
