hair loss taking benepali: has anyone had severe hair... - NRAS
hair loss taking benepali
I'm glad you asked this question as I have found my hair is coming out more than usual (not severely though) since being on Benepali but I don't think it is listed as a side effect. I didn't really link it with the Benepali till I saw this, so I'll be following your post to see if anyone else has noticed the same thing. I've had 6 injections so far.
I have severe hair loss since an op for gallstones in jan 18 .im also on methatrexate and many more drugs. FOR RA ECT.I was told im Anamic and looked it up on google to see what i could take. First thing they said was that was cause of hair loss.91 was blood count. Go for hb test tomorrow 🤞mary x
Hi
I think it’s a side affect with most of them. I no I’m on methotrexate and sulfasalazine and I had really thick hair 6 months ago now I’ve thin hair.
Sorry not much help but I no how your feeling x
Yes mine went very thin and my teeth went loose it's a nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!
I know hair loss is down on a few of the medications however, I am about to begin Benepali and nothing in the literature mentions hair loss as a side effect!
My hair has gone thin and wispy, a change I notice myself rather than others pin pointing it if you know what I mean.
Ive been on Enbrel then Benepali ( Etanercept) for over two years now.
I think its a side effect of having a supressed immune system rather than a side effect of Etanercept in particular if that makes sense.
Caused by the effect of the medicine on the body, then the bodies reaction rather than the actual medicine itself.
Im sorry about your hair, I really sympathise.
Mx
Hello, I have GCA and do not take these drugs but take prednisolone and think Mandalou could be right in as much as it is a suppressed immune system as my hair has been falling out big time.I have been trying several different good shampoos but as yet to no avail.I am hoping as my reduction of pred continues, now on 12mg from 60mg,it will stop or I am going to look at wigs.I know it is pure vanity when there are so many other more serious side effects of long term medications, some of which I have had or got in this journey.I wish you well and hope it stops soon.
I wouldn't say its pure vanity. If it makes you feel better get one. My hair loss has got so bad I don't have a choice but wear one at the moment. There are some good wigs about if you go to an official nhs supplier.
