AC surgery

I hope this finds everyone in minimal pain today. Our weather is cold and damp waiting for spring to come. I went to my pain management doctor for a shot in my right shoulder as I was having what I thought was a lot of tendonitis/bursites pain. As he did the fluroscopy he said that he noticed a tear in the rotator cuff. So that brought me to an orthopedic shoulder surgeon. After his exam and my report of failing all conservative treatments, he felt that the AC surgery cleaning out the spur and working on my bicep tendonitis would be of tremendous benefits. He would use arthroscopic surgery. Has anyone had this done? What is your experience? Thanks so much for your time and all the information on the groups posts.

I had a rotator cuff repair and bone spur removal in February last year. It worked very well and I was virtually pain free until January this year. Pain is now increasing but I know that I have erosions in the joint so I suspect that’s the issue now.

Thank you. I hope your pain subsides. What can you do for it?

How are you now? I have a spur in a bad place in my shoulder. He wants to take it out and clean the area out and they say it should be much better. However, if your starting to have trouble again perhaps it's not worth it? I hope you are feeling better.

It’s settled a bit now. Definitely worth having the surgery as I was in extreme pain from both the bone spur and rotator cuff tear.

Thank you. You've been very helpful. I'm getting a second opinion, as I did not like the bedside manner of the first surgeon. He said 97% success rate. 97% is a weird number I think.
