“”Provisional “” Date 🙄😲

Finally have a date for disc surgery , which as with everything can be subject to change. It is the 26th of April and it can’t come quick enough !! My back has been alot worse since last summer and at Christmas one out 4 bulging discs slipped. I had a nerve root injection which helped a little bit with the pain along with lyrica and tramadol. Im unable to drive because of pain and cramps and im still walking with a crutch. Im finding it very lonely as my ‘at home ‘ son has just started a job and my husband works long hours . Im not able to do much at home , just a bit of. dusting ,the washing and prepare the dinner. I suppose its cabin fever as i can’t get out unless someone takes me , i just hate being dependent on other people . I really hoped after the surgery that i will be able to get back to some normality and get a bit more active. I have put on weight due to inactivity and comfort eating - I have a family wedding in the summer and i am panicking as i had intended to try and trim up . Sorry this has turned into a moan , i would love to have someone wave a magic wand and sort it all out LOL .

Well that's not too far off....and before the summer so not so sweaty for the recuperation.

I sympathise about being stuck indoors & dependant - I hate it too. Have you thought about tackling a new project over next couple of weeks to keep you distracted? Futurelearn.com do free online 3 - 6 week courses on all sorts of odd subjects. OR sign up to Duolingo and learn a new language?

Thanks Helix , the dates not far away now , but last 2 -3 weeks have been particularly hard . It maybe had something to do with my oldest not getting home from England at Easter and I haven’t be able to get over to see him . I have tried duolingo to learn spanish but my concentration is very poor at the moment, probably due to the meds . I have managed to clear a few cupboards though which is somewhat satisfying. How are things with yourself at the moment , are you keeping ok ?

Hmm, I'm doing one step forward one step back at the moment, so could all be better. However off to get a kenalog shot this afternoon so that will help.

Good luck with that helix , it would be good to feel better and be more active as the weather improves, best wishes x

I am pleased you have a date to plan for. Even though we know things can change.

Yes it is so hard to be dependant on others, my frustration levels are very high due to that. I agree with hh as trying to do something else can help fill time and give you that sense of achievement. Maybe you could now plan what you are going to take into hospital ie book, magazine and maybe treat yourself to something new for the hospital.

Take care. ☺
