So back into a Flare

Hey hope you are all well, so I am due to have another emergency flare appointment at the NOC in Oxford after being in a huge flare for 7 weeks having ultrasounds which confirmed in my hands and wrists were full of inflammation and extensive thickening.

Day after the ultrasound had the Intramuscular Steroid injection to make me “better” then three weeks later I am in a worst position then I was before ie the steroid did nothing and I am back in the flare with a vengeance

Any one else in my position?

Em xx

Emma isn’t it horrible I’ve been like that for weeks plus months my hands are like yours changed my treatment to abetecept which start next week , had a steroid shot 3 days ago, it hep,ed some what but not totally went back my gp today because I can’t bare the pain in my back goes into my thighs could be all inflammation , he went on about the Oxford and Cambridge boat race and who won how ecstatic the winning team was and the losing team were in a heap ??? WTH I said I’m in pain I get what he was saying try change my mind set I said so why do the drug company’s make pain relief if all’s we need to do is change our mind set wouldn’t it be wonderful if that’s all we had to do he is a nutter, but Emma the pain was horrible my feet knees hands were on fire there were morning were I literally struggled to get up and down the stairs worst flare I’ve experienced I cvried a lot so Emma I’m in your boat as well. ooh..I can't get over the lack of understanding of many GPs. I guess they like straight forward 'We can fix it' problems. if only it was that easy. I hope new meds sort it and quickly. Thankfully people who post on this site 'get it', even if GPs don't.
