I came off gabapentin because I got to maximum daily dose & it didn't work for me. Even so it was a long & slow taper I had to do before I could start my next neuralgia med. You need to ask your GP, or whoever prescribed it initially, to give you a taper plan, one specifically for you. It's important you don't come off it too quickly so it's best to have a medical professional work out the best way for you especially so with the symptoms you already have.

I hope you get on alright, I don't think I could have put up with what you have all that time so I think it's high time you start coming off it quite honestly. All the best.

Olly, you should not stop gabapentin without GP advice. A slow tapering off is required.

Come off it only under doctors guidance. It doesn’t agree with you. I spent 6 months almost bedridden on Orencia. I ended up in hospital with side effects

If it doesn’t suit you after 6 months at the latest come off it

Definitely need to wean off of it, and slowly at that. Make sure to talk to your doctor as to how to go about it.

Have just weaned off Gabapentin, I put so much weight on with it. Waiting back surgery & thought I would benefit more if I lost some weight! I took a smallish dose. 300mgs 3 times daily & started by omitting the night dose as told by my rheumatologist. I am now off over 2 weeks & starting to loose a little fluid which I had also gained a lot of. When you really want off an appropriate medication I believe then it is time to start weaning down with Dr's advice. I wish you all the best. I do feel better in some aspects, however the nerve pain is more pronounced . It is always a battle I think to manage pain. Olly take care & good luck. Very Best wishes Pixiewixie x
