Do you know which drug your Rheumy was considering? What drugs have you tried and why the need for a different one?
I'm on hydroqiquaxin and lufudimid and I'm going on a tni or somat think I've tried mextrxate but it made me sick so as I'm still swollen and stuggle a lot so we will see
Sounds similar, I am on Hydroxychloroquine ( but not helping) so added Methotrexate ( oral) for 5 1/2 months but I couldn’t tolerate the side effects. Rheumy said it wasn’t holding the RA anyway so I was assessed ( DAS score) for funding for an anti-tnf drug Benepali ( subcutaneous metoject pen) which is delivered by Healthcare at Home which has to be refrigerated . I had to undergo blood screening to check no underlying infections ( this is due to Benepali being an immunosuppressant drug and makes the chances higher of turning any latent infection active). Make sure you ask your Rheumy for those results.... my first set never came back, took more and it turned out I had latent TB! Had to take TB antibiotics for 3 months to kill off latent bacteria. I took quite some time to get all this in place and HAH to send a nurse to train me and the Benepali to arrive. Make sure you discuss any anti-inflammatory / pain relief options you may need in the meantime. Best of luck!
I was in the exact same position as you. I had to wait since July but I had my first injection last week and no side effects at all. I was really scared to inject again after being so sick on the mtx but it's absolutely fine! Good luck
