I had terrible time with the Mirena, pretty sure it triggered my autoimmune disease. I had pain and felt terrible the 3 years I had it in but no one would listen to me that it was that causing it. There is so much info now out there about the Mirena and the trouble women are having with it, but I think the drug companies have done exceptionally well and convinced Drs that it is the bees knees, just like thalidomide was back in the day for morning sickness. Some women have no trouble at all with it, but for me, it was a nightmare. I am glad is over.
It just doesn't suit some people but it is hard to get the medical profession to listen. I had three gynys tell me it was not the mirena. As soon as it was out most of my symptoms disappeared over the next few months. I know lots of women have no trouble but you know if it isn't right for your body.
Yes - I have one, but have had one for a long time before Mr RA came into my life (not the same one I hasten to add - I’m on my third!).
If you have any doubts I would talk to your GP.
I assume you are having regular blood tests, maybe these will help to identify whether your RA is under control, or whether it’s the Mirena making you feel poop.
