Well this morning I felt horribly sick. Originally blamed it on the restaurant I went to last night but now I’m in bed with horrible stomach pains and a temperature. Absolutely gutted as don’t want to miss work - I’ve had quite enough meetings with th Head about absence thank you!
I’m also wondering whether to treat this illness differently from in the good old days.
At what stage would you see a doctor for example?
And one more question- I feel so sick that I just can’t face taking my Adcal or hydroxy tonight - and I’m due to take my MTX on Friday. Does any of this matter?
Would be most grateful for any words of wisdom .

Hi. Sorry for your plight! Sounds like a spot of food poisoning to me. If you have D&V they generally advise staying at home until youre 48hrs clear of the last bout. So no going to work or the Gp surgery to avoid spreading infection. Keep your fluids up and avoid dairy. Loperamide (Immodium) is very good for diarrhoea.
Keep an eye on your temperature, and if over 100.4 for more than 24 hours phone your GPs for advice. As SP says, drinks lots of water and no fatty stuff. Personally I wouldn't take Imodium as I feel nasty stuff is better out than in.
And a week here or there on your meds is unlikely to make much difference, these are slow acting long term things. People with RA get normally sick too, you just need to watch that it doesn't develop further.
Hope you get some sleep and wake up feeling better.
Keep an eye on your temperature and if it goes above 38C then it's time to contact the medical professionals.
It does sound to me like food poisoning and if you aren't improving within 24hrs, then off you go to your doctors. Sip water throughout the day because you don't want to get dehydrated.
I sell beer as a living...so take your doctors advice over mine
