Has anyone ever been told you have polycythemia (high RBC count)? Told this at checkup after routine lab work done . Now more lab and test done am scared.

Yes, I have polycythaemia in addition to RA. It is a "mild" form of leukaemia. For me, controlled by periodical venesection like giving a pint of blood and daily Aspirin 75mg to thin the blood. It does not impact on my life like RA. It is monitored by my monthly blood tests due to methotrexate, which apparently helps to control my abnormal bone marrow, (so I am told). My Heamatology specialist has access to the blood test results and phones me every two months. I happily accept this as special attention.
