Hi all...after 5 long years of being on a merry go round & being constantly fobbed off by my rheumatologist with non working copy procedures..appointments supposed to be every 3months..yet in oct this will be my appointment since Sept 16.will be 13months as hospital cancellations...I went & found a hero & so appreciated anwser & help...last week I had a trapeziectomy on my left hand to ease constant pain..following this recovery I am having a full joint replacement on my right hand..this as I was informed could have been avoided long ago if someone had payed attention to my pain issues..I have lost alot in the past year due to hands ra..my job of 22yrs which I loved.my everyday life changed due to ra..So all those who I know are in same boat.please don't give up.go on line.find a specialist nhs or private..get a GP referral & get in touch with them..if you do the work that overworked nhs.consultants just don't have time to.there is help out there.I am now on road to not recovering from ra.but to not suffering pain & life on morphine..hallelujah...😁😁

Wow, that sounds amazing. I am feeling rather jealous! I have never heard of that procedure and I have been told there is nothing they can do for my wrist. May I ask what exact complication you ( had) , your RA status, how long since diagnosis, where RA effects, etc??? What part of the UK have dealt with you to this great effect? It's so encouraging to hear some positive news, for once!
I was diagnosed in 2011..had numerous test scans operations injections on my right hand..when it started on my left hand I knew the symptoms.& also knew that like my right hand was going to get worse...nobody seemed to have anwser or reasons as to why...the pain was so bad I was prescribed morphine amoung other pain killers..the merry go round was starting again..I went on line & found a specialist in my problems..he was superb..I had a consultation in may..was operated on 2wks ago..& constant follow up care...it has taken 5yrs but I got there..I can only advice that you do the work take it to GP for referral & your on way to pain relief help..good luck..x
