Hi guys. A wee bit of advice required this morning.
I always get a headache the day before taking my MTX, but this morning its an exceptionally painful one. Is there anything I can take for it? Im on dihydrocodiene and etoricoxib which ive taken as normal this morning, but still this headache is there. Im not prone to headaches. Only the day before MTX.

Hi Angle, I work as a nurse and regularly give my patients Paracetamol and dihydracodeine. So yes it's perfectly safe. Strange that you get it day before MTX. Your sure it's not a migraine?. I often find heat applied to head helps, wheat bag, or hot flannel rung out.
Thank you. Ive taken patacetamol after consulting the pharmacist. Unfortunately its only taken the edge of the pain. Im so tired today. Im not a sufferer of headaches and never had a migraine so not sure what they feel like. The past 3 Saturdays have been the same. Day before MTX. My rheumy has took note of this but I dont see her now until 17th Aug due to my wedding/honeymoon then her being on holiday. Thankfully shes given me a break after tomorrows dose so I have no effects during this period.
Odd to have one the day before... mine were always after and I realised that if I took a folic acid pill they went away in about 30 minutes. Maybe worth a try as if you don't need extra folic acid your body just excretes it?
