RA Vs. Cancer. Looking for help or advice.

I was diagnosed with RA in Dec 2012. I was started on Methotrexate in Jan 2013. I did not do well on it. I was put on another medication. In July they were going to put me on another medication, but I had to have test done first. I had an X-ray on my chest. It came back with nodules in both lungs. I stopped all medication. In Oct 2014 my RA flared up real bad. I was put on another medication. On April 1 2015 I was diagnosed with three different skin cancers. One was melanoma in my right arm. I had surgery. I was told they got it all. No more treatment thank God. In 2016 I had another bad flare up. I couldn't use my hands, I couldn't walk . My hips, knees and ankles hurt so bad I couldn't take it anymore. I was completely debilitated. On Aug 1 2016 I was put on RITUXAN. I found out later it had Methotrexate in it. Feb 22 2017 I found out that I had Metastasize Melanoma in my lower left lung. I just had surgery on April 12, . I was told that I would have surgery and lots of scans. I now find out that I have to go on something. I can't do the immosupressants because of my RA. Has anyone else had melanoma and RA and had a good out come with treatment. Sad thing is neither one of these are curable, Has anyone else going through this?

Hiya Danna. I can't really help I'm afraid , just to say I'm so sorry & we're here for support if needed. I don't know if you've happened across it but there is another Healthunlocked site where you may want to introduce yourself too healthunlocked.com/lungcancer

Hello Dana. I'm so sorry you've been having a rough time these past few years. My heart goes out to you and I wish you the best.

I don't live in the UK, but I'm sure your cancer clinic or hospital has staff that can advice you of your best options. I spent 5 years at my city's Cancer Clinic and I have nothing but praise for the staff and all their help.

Please continue to post on this site if you just want someone to talk too. Someone is always awake as this forum has members all over the world. You don't have to be alone.

A gentle hug to you,

Sue

Have you seen the film about kriscarr.com/ She had cancer and turned her life around using diet. Crazy Sexy Cancer is the film title. You can read much about what she did and why across the web as well. Her website has lots on meditation and other things to make life better.

There is another film I am just watching called The C word (narrated by Morgan Freeman), which (I am not sure) may also have been on BBC. alrighttit.blogspot.co.uk/p... talks about the first time the woman in the film fell while in Debehams and founds she had breast cancer. It follows the story of several people with terminal cancer and goes down the same line of Kris Carr, that the medical establishment tries its best to destroy cancer and at the same time does nothing particularly good for the body - but does nothing to get the root cause, probably arguing "diet has no effect on cancer."

People who go down the diet route to attempt to solve their medical issues are up against a huge barrier. There is no huge research backing such solutions, along with immense scepticism from charities, the medical fraternity. There is very little interest in drug and medical companies in supporting such solutions, in fact it is in their interest to discredit such solutions!

The people in this film had been told they would be dead from cancer, that science had nothing left to help them. Well they proved the medical establishment was wrong, speaking in the words the film describes as "bordering on malpractice".
