Another one! It must be the time of year! All I can think of is to keep it up in a sling, not horizontal, higher than your elbow. If it's not in a sling try to keep it up, to your opposite shoulder, if it's hanging down it will be more painful. Have you been given exercises to do? If so as well as doing those wiggle your fingers periodically.

It is very painfull don't know what way to put it sometimes thank you I will try to keep it up xx

I fractured my left arm 4 months ago & I do know how you are feeling.....I felt stupid ...I tripped over a cushion & fell backwards....landing on both elbows & my head!!!

I found putting a pillow beside me in bed & resting my arm on it was the only way I could get any sleep. The surgeon said to keep my hand higher than my heart....but I found a sling too painful as I have OA in m neck....so I just grasped my right shoulder.

Have you got a shower sleeve? Look on Amazon....the thought of not having a shower for over two months freaked me out, so that was the first thing I bought....a bit fiddly but persevere...it was great to get in that shower. I got dried by putting on a towelling dressing gown & sort of wiggling around....it was impossible to use a towel.

I'm almost back to normal now, but the arm does still ache & my pessimistic orthopaedic surgeon says it could take up to 18 months as I have some tendon damage in my hand.

But hey I can drive & eat with a knife & fork instead of a spoon so it's not all bad!
