Weight LOSS after any RA med??

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a weight LOSS on their biologics, or on any RA med??

But I haven't put any on either. Have you lost a lot? I've read that's it can be a side effect to lose or put on weight- not much to worry about as long as bloods OK. Though if it's worrying you maybe check with your doc?

No, I need to LOSE weight! I can't afford to take a drug that has a high percentage of people who have GAINED weight.

Me too! I put on 14 kilos with previous medication and haven't lost it.. My activities have increased and im 4 weeks into benepali but I can just feel that I've grown lol HELP

Leflunomide, lost over a stone pretty quickly. Since PsA came to stay I have tended to lose weight rather too easily to think of it as a healthy thing to happen, but not to that extent.

Weight gain of 10 lbs since beginning Cosentyx 10 months ago. When MTX was added I gained another 5 lbs in 2 months, have since MTX and lost the 5.

I lost half a stone in 3 months on methotrexate. I'm now on hydroxychloroquinine and sulfasalazine instead (since December), and my weight has stayed the same. I'm lucky in that I can still exercise daily,and I try to ensure I have a good diet x

I lost 8 kg on leflunomide. I've put it all on again now I'm back on Prednisone though.

Prior to my diagnosis I lost some weight and was told that it was due to the disease itself. I'm quite lean and after I started MTX I gained only a few pounds. I'm on Orencia now and haven't gained any additional weight. The only medication I know of that causes weight loss is Arava ( Leflunomide)

I lost nearly two stone in a few months on Leflunomide. Just didn't feel hungry & I still don't have much appetite ..went from a size 12/14 to 10/12.

Pity the medics/nurses don't warn about this....I would have made more effort to make sure I ate ....it's cost a fortune buying smaller clothes!!!

Only weight loss ive experience when have a bad flare up and cant move dont eat or drink for about a week

Oh bless you! I seem to have the opposite problem. I lost about seven pounds during the flare that lead to diagnosis and still haven't regained it all. Each time the weight starts to go up something happens and off it comes again. I'm turning into a human twiglet and at my age that's not good news. This ghastly disease just goes on giving!

I've been on Simponi and Sulpha since Sept 2015, having had issues with MTX for some months prior. I put on half a stone between July 2015 and March 2016, after a dose of prednisolone in the July for a severe flare as the weight started climbing in the August. Since March 2016 I've lost 2 stone although I've plateaued since Christmas around the same weight. I have to admit its not been down to an improved diet, I just don't seem to be eating so much. I needed to lose a lot of weight as I was very overweight when diagnosed in Nov 2010 and put on a lot more being on prednisolone for 13 months. I now need to lose just over a stone to get down to a normal weight, something I've not been for almost two decades so there has been some positives.

I've been on prednisone since diagnosed... On wk6 of mtx after reaction to plaquineiland had to stop it. I have continued to lose. At first I lost 2-4 then gained it back but now on mtx... I have decreased appetite , nausea and and sore mouth so I believe that's a lot of why I keep losing. At diagnosis I was bout 140. Now down to 123 and still dropping. But I stay active to keep my joints mobile as possible.
