Drugs trial : Why won't my consultant start my trial... - NRAS
Drugs trial
My h's GP put him forward to be included in a trial for a new diabetes med last year. He went for the first interview & all seem fine but at the medical the following week they all but laughed at his GP recommending him because he has ongoing pain following heart surgery. We thought as it was in effect a referral & my h's GP did know his current status re his post op pain he was considered ok to take part! Anyway, he was told that once he'd had his op to stabilise his sternum & pain free to contact them again & as they already had his details, assuming they'd not changed he could go straight to medical & see if he was suitable to take part in phase 4 of the trial. So from that I'd take it that if you're due to undergo any ops, or procedures I guess with your arthroscopy, then that's considered one reason but of course each trial must have their own specific exclusion criteria to be unsuitable to be included at that time.
I got an appointment through they just rang me from
