Please find details below of the NRAS group meetings taking place next week:

NRAS Group Meetings— week commencing 16th January 2017

Heart of England (Solihull) NRAS Group

This NRAS group meets on a Wednesday every other month and have a NEW meeting venue, now to be held at: Solihull Women’s Institute (meeting room on the ground floor), 745 Warwick Road, Solihull, B91 3DG (car park entrance on Union Road) from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 9:00pm unless otherwise stated.

18th January - Speaker: Magdalena Skrybant from the Patient Public Involvement and Engagement League from the University Hospital Birmingham. Please come along as Magdalena is very prominent in RA research.

Blackpool NRAS Group

Blackpool and District NRAS Group (BADRAG) meet in the cafeteria at Clifton Hospital, Pershore Road, Lytham St. Annes, FY8 1PB from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on the third Thursday of alternate months, January through to November.

19th January - Your Everyday with RA: Chat-In

East Dorset NRAS Group

The East Dorset group meet socially for coffee from 11am at Stewarts Garden Centre, Lyndhurst Road, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 4SA and also Haskins Garden Centre, Longham, Ferndown, Dorset BH22 9DG. Upcoming coffee mornings are as follows: 19th January at Stewarts.

Plymouth NRAS Group

Phil and Rika co-ordinate this group and call themselves PADRAGS (Plymouth & District Rheumatoid Arthritis Group Support). The group meet monthly on a Thursday in the Health Education Room at Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth PL4 7QD from 12-2pm, please see below for meeting dates.

19th January - Guest speaker: Dietitian with Sentinel Diabetes

West Wales NRAS Group

Ongoing group meetings will take place in the Renal Unit Seminar Room at Withybush General Hospital, Fishguard Rd, Haverfordwest SA61 2PZ (the entrance to the Renal Unit is just left of the main hospital entrance and the seminar room is sign posted from the entrance).

Next meeting: Thursday 19th January 2017 from 6:30pm - Guest speakers from St Davids Wellbeing will talk about complementary therapies, including acupuncture.

Yeovil NRAS Group

The Yeovil NRAS group hold coffee mornings once a month from 10:30am-12pm in two locations in Yeovil: Palmers Garden Centre Coffee Shop, Bernards Way, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, BA20 2FH and The Gateway Cafe, Addlewell Lane, Yeovil, BA20 1QN. Please see dates below for locations:

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!

How can I find out if there are any groups or meetings in my area? I live in Bingley, West Yorkshire. I would love to be able to meet other people with RA but there doesn't seem to be much in my area.

Hi Caz

All groups are listed on the NRAS website here: nras.org.uk/groups and you can search by region of the UK from there. I'm afraid at this time we don't have a group in Yorkshire.

We have a telephone peer-peer service where we can match you with someone close to your age that can offer you support one to one on the phone. Thank you for your reply. Only just seen it today sorry. I will have a look at the link. Such a shame nothing in Yorkshire for "face to face" support. I appreciate your input and the peer service offered. Many thanks.
