need help with my blood test results

Hi i have been seeing a Rheumatologist for the past year and i have been told i have a inter connective tissue disorder possible sle lupus but i am finding it almost impossible to get a straight answer out of what my blood tests results mean.

Anti CCP antibodies of 11,

Hep2 ANA was positive 1/1640 titre,

Double Stranded DNA was negative.

ESR is 7 and CRP is 13.

If there is anyone out there that can tell me what these results mean i would really appreciate it.

  • Have you discussed with your GP? He or she should be happy to explain to you as they are responsible for overseeing your health care.

We can give you a broad idea, but always better to discuss with your own doctors as they know your medical history which might alter things. And blood tests alone can't give a definite answer as they need to be considered alongside your physical symptoms and so on.

Anyway, anti-CCP is a test that is mainly used to help decide if you have rheumatoid arthritis. Labs vary but often anything under 20 is not considered that significant.

ESR and CRP test your inflammation levels, either from an inflammatory disease (like rheumatoid arthritis)or infection. Your results are not far off normal, but individuals vary as to what is normal for them.

The other tests are used more for things like lupus so you might get a better answer on the lupus forum.
