Over done it again.........................

Got up yesterday morning feeling pretty good after a good nights sleep. So i spent the day getting my garden ready for winter. I only did a corner that hadn't been touched for a couple of years so i hacked back all the bushes and dug up all the unwanted plants and hacked back a couple of trees. I even managed to rest during this time and yes i am glad it is done and am i in agony hell yes. Am i glkad i did it yes i am as the garden looks a lot bigger than it was. I am giving some serious thought to the garden and thinking of slabing this corner with borders and a little wall so it will be easier to manage in future. So here i am in a lot of pain with my hands,legs and back this morning so a rest day for me today. Hugs to you all.xxxxx

I don't know how old you are sylvi.....so apologies if you are a Spring.chicken...but did you know Age Uk have a scheme where volunteers come out to help in the garden? I think you have to be 60+.

You call your local Age UK office & ask if they have the gardening service & they call you back when they have someone available.

I have had someone come for the last couple of years & it has helped a lot. I only have a small garden, but it was getting beyond me to mow the lawn, cut down Pyracantha etc.

I Solved the lawn by having it Astro Turfed...expensive but brilliant....great relief not to look out dreading to struggle to get the lawn mower out! I now just sweep the leaves off!

You do have to pay...this year it was £13 per hour.....but they have been nice chaps &'they are all security checked.

Having said that I am just going out to empty all my pots & plant 200 bulbs!

I am over 60 just darling.,i love my garden and i love doing it and i know ther will come a time when i can no longer do it and then i will look at age Uk as it sounds like a good idea and thank you for thinking of me.xxxxx

Well I was in the same boat as you last night Sylvi me and wife were out in garden cutting logs all day for our log burner and last night I was done in and rested all night xxx
