Hi i am on leflunomide since last friday! I have a really horrible chest infection, been given amoxicillin antibiotics. Nurse said i was ok to take leflunomide this evening but to ring helpline which i have. So awaiting reply.
Just wondered if anyone on Lef took antibiotics while on this drug.
No absolutely not according to my consultant. Do be careful I had bacterial pneumonia down to a cold that turned nasty. I had three courses of antibiotics including Doxycycline which worked. I suggest don't take it unless given the go ahead tomorrow. Its long lasting so one difference either way won't matter but mine was stopped for a week after symptoms went and advised in future err on the side of caution.
Thankyou for the info. I didnt take the Lef last night because i was a bit concerned so thank you for the comments and as you say i may only be off it for one week. I also have taken doxycline in the past when my infection wouldnt go. I am hoping the amoxicilan gets to work soon.
I hope it works, I'm allergic to it along with penicillin. Fingers crossed all is ok now.
