Strange thing is my knuckles on other hand hurt more. It came on sudden and it is almost like an insect bite, although I never felt or saw anything.

Sorry your hands are swollen...but good that you can still wear your ring! My index and middle finder MCP are swollen too! Hugs to you!

What treatment did you have for your poor hand?

Both my hands were like that in July & I had 80mg Depo injection in my thigh & they went down & the pain went in 48 hrs.......swelling just creeping back, but not the pain thank goodness.

Hope you are more comfortable now.

Thank you. Just been to see G.p. It is an infected insect bite. A week of antibiotics.

Pleased your depot worked. I am still on oral steroids.

That remind me of my hands too, could not see any blood vessel running along. Must be very painful for you. Take good care and remember to take your medication.

Thought it was going to burst last night. Sorted now thanks, hopefully it will go down now.

Good to know that. It will take sometimes to reduce and it will if you work closely with your rheumy. I had to put on the shoes with 2 size up those days when my foot were swollen. Absolutely could not see any vein running along, I was glad they subsided slowly. When I pressed them, the muscles could hardly come back up. I was so worried. I am absolutely okay now, therefore you need not worry too much, just take it easy and you will be soon fine.

Thank you Amy for your kind words. Unfortunately my Rheumy never seem that bothered. I have not contacted them because it was only due to a bite. I have a good G.p though.

Thank you everyone. The Gp said it is an infected insect bite. I never saw or felt the blighter. Just an itch then it became swollen within a couple of hours.

My finger joints and wrist are sore today, thought I had better get it checked. Hopefully now it will start to go down. Will keep ice on it .
