Researchers and therapists at the University of Oxford

are launching a free-to-access hand exercise website. This is for people who have problems with their hands due to rheumatoid arthritis and are looking for your opinions and input in designing this hand exercise website.

If you can come to a meeting at the Botnar Research Centre at the University of Oxford in the 3rd and/or 4th week of September (date/time TBC) please get in touch! Or if you are interested in further opportunities to help, still get in touch!

If you have any questions or need more information,

please contact sarahexercise@ndorms.ox.ac.uk or call 01865-737907.

Dr Cynthia Srikesavan

On behalf of the research team

I spoke to someone at the program, this opportunity is for people that can get to the meeting in Oxford. I would love to have been involved, but sadly I'm too far away, I'm in Leicester. I'm really surprised there's no other comments on this post. I'd encourage anyone that can help with research, or gets the chance to go on a research program to do it!! My care was excellent whilst on a research program, but sadly has gone downhill since the program ended. So come on sufferers in the Oxford are ..GET INVOLVED!!, you don't just help yourself but also help others!.

I would have gladly offered but I can't get to Oxford. I have offered my support for other research opportunities in here too. One fairly recently too but haven't heard anything back YET about any findings. Just because people don't reply or comment does not mean that no one wants to help...just felt that should be pointed out! Best wishes 🙂

I wasn't implying no one else was interested, just that I was surprised there were no comments, or likes even. I found out information by calling the program, which I've passed on, to help others. Isn't what this site is all about, helping others?.

Of course it is!! I was implying that maybe because people can't get to Oxford that's the reason they have not commented or may even have replied privately? I think Research into anything to do with Rheumatology is brilliant as we suffer with a very misunderstood condition. I have a lot of problems with my hands and see physio regularly...but can't get to Oxford as I've said. Anyway enough said...I'm sure if people can help they will. Have a good day 🙂

Do you see though how just one single reply, raised more interest in the post, than no replies. My hands are terrible, to the point I daren't pick up my grandchildren for fear of dropping them!. I would've loved to get involved with this program.

Yes, me too! I would help with any research I can. It's a shame we can't do it remotely.

I did ask that, alas not.

I would have loved to have done this, I do have arthritis in my hands and wrist, but unfortunately I live in Northampton and there is no way I could get to Oxford, hope you manage to get people interested.

It's seems such worthwhile research doesn't it maria_68 ?. I do hope they manage to get enough people interested so they can create the website. Sometimes I don't know what to do with my hands because of the pain.
