NAUSEA AND METHOTREXATE

Having suffered nausea after mtx injections, I have discovered something that has helped me and maybe could help others too. I bought some wrist bands which are used for travel sickness and wear them before my injection and for the following day. So far, so good....

I too use the wristbands. They are brilliant... Not just a placebo. They are sold for travel sickness but are great for any form of nausea including pregnancy morning sickness. As long as you get them in the correct pressure point place on your wrist they work within minutes. Of course they don't actually stop the nausea or sickness but they certainly damp it down and make life bearable. I first discovered them when my son was very travel sick....practically travelled everywhere as a baby in vest and pants clutching a bucket! Too young for medication, we tried the bands and hey presto, they worked! I've used them ever since for travel, and now for my meds. I keep a pair in my handbag and by my bed for instant access.

Good chemists sell them and they are available on Amazon. The better ones are called Seabands. The cheap ones work as well but are sometimes funny sizes and lose their elastic quickly.

I recommend them to everyone. Well done for discovering them Catwoman :)

I had a delayed reaction due to my impaired kidney function... and my nausea lasted for days after injection. I called and my dr gave me LEVCOVORIN CALCIUM which is in the folic acid family, which I take every day also.. and this med is meant to work with the mtx. I take this once a week within a time frame of the injection and it helps a lot. Another thing too that helps settle my stomach if it does start to act funny, is peppermint tea. If I don't want it hot, I just put the tea bag in ice water. I just sip it, doesn't take much to help. :)
