Stopping meds
Eh?? Assuming your consultant didn't explain ... if so that does seem bizarre. Are you particularly well right now? Might this be remission? Or is it the case that your diagnosis is in question? Sorry for all the questions but I'd be scratching my head for sure.
Hello. What was the conversation leading up to that decision? At the moment it doesn't sound rational to me. 😒
As postie2 says, without any explanation it is bizarre! The three main reasons to stop meds are a) bad blood results suggesting that liver or kidneys are struggling with the drugs b) sustained remission so guidelines are to reduce drugs to see if it will hold without drugs c) the drugs not working any more either wrong diagnosis or just your body has stopped responding to them. Do any of those sound more likely than others?
Why don't you contact the GP secretary or consultant secretary and ask what the reason is as you can't remember? It may be they can look it up in the letter or can ask consultant to explain again
Hi sorry didn't qualify my question. I am have pain although on these drugs for a year or so ( although I don't expect to be completely painless cos then I would be in remission, right?) But then because the steroid depo doesn't have me doing cartwheels... I'm confused whether they are questioning my diagnosis or looking to change drugs. Didn't communicate very well on the appointment or on my initial question...Sorry frustrated altogether with the whole disease! I tried to ring Secretary today but nobody around so will try and clarify totmorrow.
Very strange. Should certainly not stop both meds at once.
