Hope everybody's having a pain free day, I got some good news today Rheumy nurse phoned today , I've to go to hospital on Tuesday to start biological process so hopefully getting somewhere now as I've been waiting since February 😀

Yes good news for you! It is a long process I know. The assessment which has to show you are in agony! I came off my steroids in order to make sure my bloods were not showing I was any better. Ironic I had to endure more pain in order to get the biologic drug! But I guess its worth it. Hopefully. Your light at the end of the tunnel at last eh?!

Yes I hope so but have also failed with 3 dmards and I'm sure somebody said that would give you the green light to go onto the next process

If you failed I thought that meant you were not put forward? I am confused. I don't understand it. Sorry. By failing dmards it means you are more likely to go further? So failing is good. I guess I got it wrong way round. But if that is correct then yes you will be going forward for biologics. It sounds promising. Keep me up to date. I want to look up that drug. There are so many. I feel I should know about them all. X

It's made my day as I was starting to lose hope being in pain every day but at least things are moving in the right direction, but we shouldn't have to justify being in pain what a long drawn out process it is xxx

Have a look at the NRAS website or Arthritis Research and there are sections on the drugs used. Generally the DMARD's are tried first and if you cannot tolerate 3 or they do not work then they will try biologics. Farm

I was getting confused. Yes its when other drugs stop working we go on to bios. You learn about this the hard way sadly.
