NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 20th June 2016

Thanet NRAS Group

Meetings take place four times a year at The New Life Family Church, 8 Church Street, Margate, Kent, CT9 1ST from 6:45pm-8:15pm on a Monday, unless otherwise stated below.

20th June - Group Coordinator Petra will be talking about her recent success with her Personal Independence Payment application

Medway NRAS Group

Future meetings of the Medway NRAS Group are taking place in the Blue Room at Gillingham Methodist Church, 100 Third Avenue, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 2LU (unfortunately, there is no car park but on street parking close by is available) bi-monthly on a Monday from 7pm-9pm.

20th June - Guest speaker: Sophie Fournel from CiLK, to talk about the work that the 'Centre for independent living in Kent' do

Cambridge NRAS Group

The Cambridge NRAS group meet at Addenbrooke's Hospital/Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine, Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 0SP, bi-monthly on a Thursday. Please see below for meeting dates and times. Free to attend, but donations welcome - collection at the door.

23rd June 6pm to 7:30pm - 'Personal Independence Payment, A Transition' by Alan Smith (LLB Hons.), Social Security Appeals Adviser. This talk will cover the following topics:

· PIP- an overview of claiming process

· The Daily Living and Mobility Descriptors

· The Legal Test

· The Appeals Process

Plymouth NRAS Group

Phil and Rika co-ordinate this group and call themselves PADRAGS (Plymouth & District Rheumatoid Arthritis Group Support).

June 23rd - Plymouth NRAS Group Summer Lunch! We will be having a meal on Thursday 23rd June (instead of a meeting on the 16th June), the meal will start at 12.30pm at Mount Batten Bar & Restaurant, Lawrence Road, Mount Batten, Plymouth, PL9 9SJ. On the Stagecoach 2 and 2a bus route. No pre ordering or deposit necessary, but let Phil or Rika know you are coming at [e-mail]

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
