Just saw my lovely Rheummy nurse. She has just put me on Hydroxychloroquine to go with MTX. So hope that this agrees with me. Also have to step up to 10mg of prednisolone for a few days. My next follow up is with my Rheummy himself. Now saying goodbye to my favourite ice-cream parlour which closes on Sunday. 😭

I have been on hydrxo. for 6 months with no side effects at all apart from slightly dry skin.

I've tried that combination but the other way round, HCQ which helped for about a year then MTX but unfortunately it didn't work for me but that doesn't mean it won't for you of course, we're each different & respond differently. Oddly MTX alone worked well for a good while, 7 years but this just shows as MTX alone hasn't been enough for you. I really hope you do well on the two & the increase in pred is a shot term solution whilst the HCQ builds up.

Aw, that's a shame about your ice cream parlour, enjoy it while you can!

The ice cream parlour has been sold as a going concern, will close for a short time and reopen. I hope their service standards don't change.
