NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 9th May 2016

Great Yarmouth NRAS Group

The Great Yarmouth & Waveney NRAS Group meet in the ‘Buzz Room’ of the Louise Hamilton Centre, James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 6LA from 5:30pm-7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month.

10th May - Social meeting

Mid Somerset NRAS Group

Meetings are held at the Taunton Rugby Club, Hyde Lane, Bathpool, Taunton TA2 8BU. Please note that some meetings are held on a Saturday morning but most meetings are held on a Tuesday evening.

Tuesday 10th May - 7pm - Mid Somerset NRAS Groups' 5th Birthday! Guest speaker: Clare Jacklin from NRAS

 

Oxford NRAS Group

Meetings are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford OX3 7LD on Tuesdays every other month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

10th May - Guest speaker: Prof Paul Bowness will present: Autoimmunity – When our Bodies Turn on Us

Mid Cornwall NRAS Group

The Mid Cornwall NRAS group - PIRATES (people involved in RA training, education and support) meet at Carnon Downs Village Hall, Tregye Road, Carnon Downs, Truro TR3 6JQ from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

11th May - ‘Taking Control of your RA – Ways of Making a Difference’ - a series of short light-hearted talks by each group coordinator along with a demonstration of equipment and aids to support those with RA by ‘Tremorvah Industries’ – a local not-for-profit company owned by Cornwall Council that supplies equipment for people with disabilities commercially

Weston-super-mare NRAS Group

This group have a new meeting location! Meetings are now held in Conference Room 3 at The Campus, Highlands Lane, Weston-super-Mare, BS24 7DX monthly on a Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

May 11th - Sarah and Louise the Occupational Therapists from Weston General Hospital will be talking about joint protection

Worcester NRAS Group

Bi-monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm at the Lyppard Hub in Ankerage Green, Warndon Villages, Worcester WR4 0DZ.

11th May - Julie Painter, Rheumatology Nurse Specialist will present 'Methotrexate Treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis'

Heart of England (Solihull) NRAS Group

This NRAS group meets on a Wednesday every other month at Broomfield Hall, Union Road, Solihull B91 3DH (The British Legion) from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

11th May - Guest speaker Conn O'Neill from NRAS will do an update on the Policy and Public Affairs work NRAS are currently doing

Colchester NRAS Group

This group meet on the second Thursday of every other month at the St. John's Church Community Centre, St. John's Close, Colchester CO4 0HP (parking available on site) from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

12th May - Guest speaker: Mr Tare, Hand/Plastic Surgeon (performs procedures on many of RA patients)

Gwent NRAS Group

All future meetings of the Gwent NRAS group will be held on the second Saturday of alternate months at Caerphilly Library, The Tywn, Caerphilly, CF83 1JL at 9:30am.

14th May - Guest speaker: Sue Gurden, Specialist Rheumatology Physiotherapist

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
