I am glad you posted this as I mentioned in one of my posts recently that my scalp hurts. It hurts when I raise my eyebrows and the back of my scalp is tender when I lie down. I don't have any headache do you? . I am going to see consultant soon and was going to mention it.Xx

I do get head aches now and then but the painful scalp is a differen feeling from headaches. My scalp hurt for years lol but it took me a long time to relate it to fibromyalgia, I don't really get the tender scalp now but I know when it visits lol.

I get this its migraine headache

Can be linked to fibromyalgia, and when the pain killers don't work, try to distract your self from the pains and you'll begin to understand fibromyalgia but first you must learn to accept it as part of you.

Hello I have the same sort of thing and scabs that bleed I believe it's the methotrexate being a man I cut my hair short so don't need to comb it. I've tried various scalp treatments but it persists :-(

I think you're right burtonbradstock, I have the same a but only since I started the MTX.

I read that folic acid can help maintain a decent head of hair and I think so because at 52 I still have plenty and been on mtx and folic acid since 2002.

I should market it this time next year I will be a millionaire :-)

Unfortunately I already take folic acid on every day other than my MTX day, so it doesn't work for me :-( I'm also half bald already after a year of treatment and I used to have lovely hair. <Sigh>

I had a similar sort of thing - I thought I'd scorched my head with a hotel hairdryer. Turned out to be shingles! See your doctor.

Hi, I have the same thing, it's super tender, not sore, and feels more like deep bruising than a headache, I have just been referred back to rhumy by my GP as she suspects I have fibro, so Phillip may be right , check it out with your GP x

Hi Shortty, did you have had the flue recently. I had, and had the same experience. It took about three weeks and then it was gone!

Wish you all the best!

I'm the same and have very very thick hair. I've never in my life been tenderheated until now. This illness changes everything about us.

Does anyone else with hair problems get an itchy head with little spots dotted here and there in the scalp?
