Shoulder pain: Does anyone else with RA suffer with... - NRAS
Shoulder pain
Yes, when I'm flaring, my left shoulder is the most painful bit. Apart from the prescribed meds, I use Pernaton Green Lipped Mussel Extract Gel. It gives some temporary relief.
I use a crutch but find that this really hurts my shoulder.
Thankfully, at the moment, my shoulder is quiet. I hope yours improves soon. Jora
Mine is having a go at the mo. I have an Rheumy appointment later this month but in the meantime, like Jo, I'm finding Pernaton takes the edge off for a while & the good thing is there are no limits to reapplying & I'm free to do things. Heat helps too but I let the Pernaton wear off before using my heat pad. Don't ask why, it's just a routine I've got into!
I also use Pernation it does bring some relief. I'm going to apply some now as my right shoulder has started playing up overnight, the pain is also going down to my elbow.
Hope this helps you, unfortunately it doesn't sort out the bones rubbing and clicking.
Regards Mike
Yes, I get shoulder pain but not as bad as yours. As RD attacks most joints in the body I have to accept it. Also, the RD does damage the joints so my pain may be due to that xx
Specialist physio really helps me, and has given me gentle exercises to help realign my shoulder - worth asking for a referral
Yes, my RA affects my shoulders and clavicles as well as hips & knees. The pain is more bothersome at night and when resting- when I move I feel less pain. The trick is to do the exercises to maintain or improve joint mobility without causing damage. I use a sleeping pill at night and still wake up with the pain but it probably helps.
Take care, cheers Doreen
