After my Rheumy app last Monday I now have a MRI scan booked for the 7Th. but last Friday I was rushed into hospital with suspected blood clot in my lung, but I was given the all clear and came back home that evening.

You are so lucky I had PE's last year and am on medication to prevent a reoccurrence. I asked if linked to RA and advised probably but no idea why yet. The Riveroxaban limits the use of RA medications but has a higher priority as the clots can kill. So for a time I was very scared. I truly hope your ok now and are being followed up well. x

I totally understand medway-lady 3 maybe 4 years ago I had 3 clots in my lung and the hospital did not think that I was going to survive as about 97% of people die with just one clot. A indication that you might have a clot is server back pain and a shortness of breath if this happens just dial 999 and tell then that you might have clot and that you have had them before and yes I am being looked after I also have a call button.

Hi Medway lady, have you, been tested for Antiphospholipid Syndrome? It's another auto immune disorder so it may be the cause of your PE's. Also known as Hughes Syndrome. My mum has it and we have lots of auto immune problems within the family. Clemmie

Thanks all and the main worry for me was actually the PE's did not hurt and I thought it was a chest infection as a bit wheezy the GP noticed and called for the Ambulance I still though what a waste of time all this fuss just gimme the antibiotics. 5 days later it sort of dawned on me that you don't get kept in for a cold then I was worried. Its hard to tell the difference between the PE's and Condrulitus in the sturnum but even though we live way out of town the emergency series arrive quickly by motorbike I've discovered. I know this is naughty but the young Australian paramedics are very nice and very smiley. lol
