Please find details of the NRAS group meetings taking place next week:

NRAS Group Meetings—Week Commencing 7th September 2015

Great Yarmouth NRAS Group

The Great Yarmouth & Waveney NRAS Group meet in the ‘Buzz Room’ of the Louise Hamilton Centre, James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, NR31 6LA from 5:30pm-7:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month.

8th September - Guest speaker: Scott King will present 'The Importance of Exercise'. Scott will be talking about the importance of exercise and telling us what kind of exercise can be done with RA.

Mid Somerset NRAS Group

Meetings are held at the Taunton Rugby Club, Hyde Lane, Bathpool, Taunton TA2 8BU. Please note that some meetings are held on a Saturday morning but most meetings are held on a Tuesday evening.

8th September - 7pm - 'Ageing well with Tai Chi' by Dianne Ramsay, Ageing Well and Fit as a Fiddle Manager, Age UK

Oxford NRAS Group

Meetings are held in the Lecture Theatre at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford OX3 7LD on Tuesdays every second month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Look for the NRAS direction posters to the room.

8th September - ‘Nurturing your Knees’ - looking after knees with Rheumatoid Arthritis and the options available, by Professor Daniel Prieto Alhambra and Physiotherapist Jess Wilson 

Mid Cornwall NRAS Group

The Mid Cornwall NRAS group - PIRATES (people involved in RA training, education and support) meet at Carnon Downs Village Hall, Tregye Road, Carnon Downs, Truro TR3 6JQ from 6:30pm-8:30pm, please see meeting dates below:

9th September - Topic: 'How RA has affected me' - The coordinating group will each talk about their RA journey and will welcome any questions

Weston-super-Mare NRAS Group

This group meets monthly on a Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Asda Community Centre, Asda Stores Ltd, Phillips Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3UZ.

September 9th - Guest speaker: Rheumatologist, Dr Webber from Weston General Hospital

Worcester NRAS Group

Bi-monthly meetings take place on Wednesdays between 6.45pm to 8.30pm at the Lyppard Hub in Ankerage Green, Warndon Village, Worcester WR4 0DZ.

9th September - Guest speaker: Dr Caroline Cardy, Consultant Rheumatologist

Colchester NRAS Group

This group meet on the second Thursday of every other month at the St. John's Church Community Centre, St. John's Close, Colchester CO4 0HP (parking available on site) from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

10th September - Talk on Living Aids by Alphamarque - a local specialist shop will be showing a range of gadgets to help with your daily life

Heart of England—Solihull NRAS Group

This NRAS group meets on the second Thursday of every other month at Broomfield Hall, Union Road, Solihull B91 3DH (The British Legion) from 6:45pm for prompt start at 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

10th September - Guest speaker: John Rowland will give a presentation on the Birmingham Rheumatology Research Patient Partnership - ‘Giving Patients the say in Research for RA’

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!

No you don't have to let the group know if you wish to attend, you are more than welcome to just turn up and you can bring someone along with you too.
