I've been on methotrexate for 5 weeks and haven't suffered any side effects but today and last night I feel sick so wondered if it was my tabs or just one of those things.

Maybe or maybe not! Very hard to tell as could be the levels building up in your body or could just be one of those things. Are you taking folic acid? That helps nausea.

As Helixhelix said, it's hard to tell, but worth monitoring to see if you keep getting it around the time you take the tablets now. It might be that this naturally improves with time as your body gets used to the drug, but if it does become a problem, speak to your rheumatology team about it, as there may be changes (to when you take the folic acid or to the dose of the methotrexate etc) that could help. You could also ask your doctor or pharmacist about anti-nausea tablets to see if they help if it doesn't improve.

I was sick right off the bat with mtx, but it has gotten better for me, and I started out on injections. It could be just one of those things, but if it continues, your rheumy can help sort it out. Don't be afraid to be a squeaky wheel :)
