Not currently taking them but have in the past found them to be the best anti- inflammatory for me with the least if any side effects. Good luck Gillian

Hiya Dennis. When I was diagnosed it was one of the first NSAID's I was given along with nebumetone though I took 200mg daily, it worked well but my Consultant swapped it for meloxicam which I took for 3 years. I now take etoricoxib (another COX-2 inhibitor), have for 4 years, alternate days now. No bad thing new meds are added in my view, they're only given if you need them & as long as they work then all's well!

Yes, I've had these since the beginning and have got on very well with them, they make a real difference to my joints. I also have omeprazole available, although celecoxib is kinder on my stomach than things like ibuprofen, I sometimes get a touch of dyspepsia and the omeprazole knocks that on the head.

One unexpected benefit is that they're brilliant at stopping migraines. If I feel one coming on (eg vision goes weird) I take that day's dose straight away and the migraine never develops.

i have been on them now for well over five years they are a different class of medication called a Cox 2 Inhibitor.

I have to take these as I am unable to take NSID medication as the affect my bloods

Personally I do not have any problems with them and they seem to be kinder to the old tummy.

It is an NSAID Bob but as you say a COX-2 inhibitor. If you're prescribed capsules maybe that's why your tum doesn't object.

A very good medication I have no real alternatives so I will just keep taking the tablets, Heels

All the best

I agree, did wonders for me early days but stopped for some reason even doubling the dose didn't help. Etoricoxib working though thankfully.
